Silver fillings:
Dental amalgam is less expensive, usually used for inner tooth with cavity, that are not noticeable after filling. It is best choice for large cavities.
Composite filling
It is natural in appearance. They blend well with the teeth and appear more natural.This fillings can be used to repair chipped offor broken teeth. This filling set fast as it set by curing with light, so there is no need to avoid chewing from the filled site for sometime.
Other Dental cements: GIC
The other dental cements, like GLass Inomer cements are good for pulp and gingiva, less time taking, less cost effective, it reruires very less tooth preparation that includes good resistance and as it relaeses flouride highly recomended for kids (Pedo patients).
